Mari Shine
Mari Shine is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in a diverse array of management and operational assignments. She is currently assigned to the Leadership Development Unit at the FBI Training Division. Adjunct Faculty Program Manager: Manages faculty scheduling and program logistics to ensure effectiveness of faculty who support leadership initiatives/services Coaching Program Manager: Manages the FBI coaching program by overseeing certified coaches and coaching program logistics. Mentoring Program Manager: Manages the FBI Mentoring program by collaborating and coordinating mentoring programs across the enterprise. Holding a Master of Arts in Education from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs/Political Communications from George Washington University, Mari combines academic prowess with practical expertise.
As a retired police officer from the City of Alexandria, Mari was a first responder at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. This experience has enhanced her commitment to shaping future law enforcement officers with an emphasis on excellence in the face of adversity.
Mari’s influence extends beyond the field, having instructed thousands of federal, state, and local law enforcement executives and field personnel. As an certified EQi and a Positive Psychology-Based Health and Well-being Coach, Mari brings a holistic approach to professional development, emphasizing mental and emotional resilience.
In addition, Mari has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Virginia since 2019. This role allows for the sharing of extensive knowledge and practical insights with the next generation of professionals and law enforcement executives worldwide. Through her extensive experience and leadership roles, Mari continues to be a driving force in the realms of law enforcement, education, and well-being.
